Sadako Peace Day Message

From Jan in Knivsta, Sweden on 08/05/07:
"Compassion is an unstable emotion, observed Susan Sontag. It needs to be translated into action, or it withers." My Prayer for Peace turned into a modest form of action on the 50th Hiroshima Day 1995 - a Pilgrimage from Uppsala to Stockholm. Five days with lots of encounters and contemplating, inspired me to continue the next 4 years. This August became a reminder. 200 deportation threatened asylum seekers from Aghanistan embarked on a much longer walk to the Parliament in Stockholm. How different our lives yet may be, this mutual experience entwined us. Peace derives from the Human Heart taking Action. Sincerely,

Send a message or a prayer of peace.
